East Coast rockers Sloan will be headlining this year's Springlicious festival on Queen Street downtown.

Originally from Halifax but now based in Toronto, Sloan has released 10 albums over a 10-year career with the most recent, The Double Cross hitting the shelves in 2011. While nominated multiple times for a Juno Award, the group only took home the hardware in 1997 for Best Alternative Album (One Chord to Another).

The Sloan show is just the tip of the iceberg, as Springlicious 2014 will feature three stages of music along with dozens of food vendors. Crowds can look forward to interactive entertainment including busker pitch, wrestling show, Bubbleology show, full size carnival, games and more.

The Eighth annual, Springlicious begins Friday, May 30 with the 97.7HTZFM Rocksearch and School-a-palooza! Rocksearch is a new addition to Springlicious, bringing the best of southern Ontario’s rock bands. School-a-Palooza hosts music and talents organized by Niagara Fall’s Mayor’s Youth Committee featuring students from five local high schools.

Sloan will be taking to the stage on Saturday, May 31.
